U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the killing of two ISIS militants and the capture of two others during operations conducted in Iraq and Syria.

In a statement posted on CENTCOM’s official Facebook page on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the command reported: “Between May 21 and May 27, U.S. Central Command, in coordination with partner forces in Iraq and Syria, conducted a series of targeted operations as part of an ongoing and intensified campaign to defeat the terrorist organization ISIS.”

According to the statement, CENTCOM forces carried out six operations—five in Iraq and one in Syria—resulting in the killing of two ISIS members and the arrest of two others, including an ISIS leader.

Multiple weapons were also recovered during the raids. The operations were described as part of broader U.S. efforts to disrupt and degrade ISIS’s ability to reconstitute, plan, and carry out attacks against civilians, U.S. forces, and partner forces in the region.

"The United States and members of the multinational Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve remain firmly committed to the continued fight against ISIS," the statement added.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander of U.S. Central Command, said: “These operations underscore CENTCOM’s commitment—alongside our allies and partners—to the enduring defeat of ISIS in the region.”
