A United Nations investigation committee has arrived in Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria to document Israeli incursions and hear testimonies from residents affected by alleged Israeli violations in the countryside of the province.

In a statement issued on Saturday, December 13, 2025, Quneitra Governorate said the UN committee arrived as part of a mission to document Israeli violations against civilians.

The arrival of the UN delegation coincided with the continued Israeli military incursions into the rural areas of Quneitra.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Israeli forces advanced on Saturday morning toward the village of Sayda al-Hanout in the southern Quneitra countryside.

The agency reported that a military force comprising eight military vehicles set up a checkpoint at the main entrance of the village, while another unit entered the village and began searching several homes.

A day earlier, Israeli forces released two civilians who had been detained while passing through a checkpoint erected between the town of Umm Batna and the village of Ajraf.

In addition, an Israeli patrol consisting of six military vehicles advanced on Friday evening toward the villages of Western and Eastern Samdaniyah in the northern Quneitra countryside.

Concerns among residents in southern Syria continue to grow amid the ongoing Israeli incursions, the establishment of checkpoints, house searches and arrests, as well as warplane and drone overflights, the creation of new military positions, and the bulldozing of agricultural land and trees.
