Speaking to the media, Khoshnaw expressed his happiness at the selection, describing it as “an important global achievement for me and for caricature art in Kurdistan.” He added: “Throughout my years working in caricature and cartoon art, I have continued my efforts toward change, innovation, and leadership, constantly developing myself, my style, and my ideas without adhering to a single artistic approach. I have maintained the same enthusiasm—if not more—both inside and outside Kurdistan.”

Extensive International Participation Khoshnaw explained that this year alone witnessed more than 20 international activities and participations, which led the International Organization of Caricature and Cartoon Artists to select him among the top 100 artists in the first stage, and then among the top 50 in the second stage. The organization, founded in 1945, oversees international artistic activities annually based on precise criteria.

He held his first solo fine arts exhibition in 1986, before later presenting his caricature works in the city. After 2000, he took part in numerous international fine arts and caricature exhibitions, with his total participations exceeding 220 events worldwide, earning many awards, certificates, and honors.

Prominent International Festivals and Exhibitions He participated in the 12th International Caricature and Cartoon Festival in Shanghai in 2014, as well as the Mihai Eminescu International Caricature Exhibition in Romania and Moldova in 2017. The latter brought together around 500 artists from 101 countries, with works evaluated by a panel of art experts. Khoshnaw’s works were selected for the exhibition, underscoring the quality and distinction of his art.

Strengthening International Artistic Ties

Khoshnaw emphasized that his participation in more than 40 international exhibitions outside Kurdistan plays an important role in introducing the world to Kurdish caricature art and strengthening artistic relations with international artists.
