The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the killing and capture of nearly 25 ISIS militants in Syria in the days following a large-scale military strike carried out on December 19.

In an official statement released on Monday, December 30, 2025, CENTCOM said that U.S. forces, in coordination with partner forces, conducted a series of operations that resulted in the neutralization of approximately 25 ISIS elements after the mid-month strike targeting ISIS positions.

According to the statement, at least seven ISIS operatives were killed, while the remaining targets were captured during 11 missions conducted between December 20 and 29. The operations also led to the destruction of four ISIS weapons caches.

CENTCOM noted that these missions followed the launch of Operation “Eagle Eye” on December 19, during which U.S. and Jordanian forces struck more than 70 targets, employing over 100 precision-guided munitions.

The operation involved dozens of fighter jets, attack helicopters, and artillery units, resulting in the destruction of ISIS infrastructure and weapons sites across central Syria, the statement added.

Commenting on the operations, Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Central Command, said: “We will not relent. We remain steadfast in our commitment to working with our regional partners to defeat the ISIS threat to the United States and the region.”

Cooper added that ISIS was responsible for at least 11 plots or attacks targeting the United States in 2025. In response, U.S. and partner forces in Syria have conducted sustained operations over the past 12 months, leading to the arrest of more than 300 terrorist operatives and the killing of over 20 others.

CENTCOM emphasized that continued pressure on terrorist elements, dismantling ISIS networks, and close cooperation with partners are key to preventing the group’s resurgence and enhancing security in the United States, the region, and globally.
