UN Delegation Visits Quneitra to Assess Humanitarian Situation and Israeli Incursions

A United Nations delegation visited Quneitra Governorate, in the presence of Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ibrahim Al-Albi, to assess the humanitarian situation in the area amid recent security developments.

According to local sources, the delegation met on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with a number of civilians affected by repeated Israeli incursions and ongoing violations against local residents.

The meeting was held at the Cultural Center in the city of Al-Salam, Quneitra Governorate, where the delegation listened to testimonies detailing residents’ suffering and the impact of these violations on their daily lives.

The delegation also held discussions with local officials and representatives of the local community on the security and humanitarian conditions in the governorate, stressing the need to take urgent measures to protect civilians, ensure their fundamental rights, and improve the humanitarian response to meet the needs of those affected.
