CENTCOM: No Casualties Among Our Forces; Operations Against Iran Ongoing
Welat TV – Erbil
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Saturday that no injuries or casualties were recorded among its forces in the region during the latest strikes against Iran, noting that damage to U.S. facilities was “minor and did not affect ongoing operations.”
In a statement issued on February 28, 2026, CENTCOM said the operations targeted “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command and control centers, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, as well as military airports.”
The statement added that U.S. and allied forces began carrying out the strikes at 1:15 a.m. Eastern Time, with the objective of “dismantling Iran’s security apparatus,” prioritizing sites considered to pose an “imminent threat.”
CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said that Donald Trump had “ordered decisive action,” adding that “soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Guardsmen, and Coast Guardsmen are answering the call.”
Following the first wave of strikes, CENTCOM forces were able to “repel hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks,” the statement noted, pointing out that the initial hours of the operation involved the use of precision munitions launched from air, land, and sea.
The command also announced that its “Scorpion Strike” task force used low-cost one-way attack drones in combat for the first time, reflecting an expansion in the operational tools employed in the confrontation.
The United States and Israel continue conducting airstrikes on Iran, while Tehran has responded by targeting sites in Israel and other countries in the region.
