President Barzani Discusses Regional Developments with Al-Sharaa

Masoud Barzani received a phone call from Syria’s transitional president Ahmed al-Sharaa to discuss the latest regional developments.

During the call, held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the two sides reviewed the current tensions in the region and their implications for regional security and stability.

Al-Sharaa emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and cooperation in ways that contribute to resolving various regional crises through peaceful means and dialogue.

Both sides also warned of the risks posed by continued unjustified escalation and the targeting of Arab states, stressing the need to preserve stability in the region.
