Al-Sharaa Affirms Syria’s Support for Lebanon’s Stability in Call with French and Lebanese Presidents

Syria’s transitional president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, affirmed his country’s full support for Lebanon’s stability and the Lebanese government’s efforts to restore its sovereignty and disarm Hezbollah.

The remarks came during a phone call on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with French President Emmanuel Macron and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

Al-Sharaa stressed the importance of opening a new chapter in Syrian-Lebanese relations based on cooperation and coordination between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of their two peoples.

The three leaders also agreed to maintain ongoing communication and coordination to support regional stability and enhance opportunities for cooperation between Syria and Lebanon across various sectors

Earlier, on March 10, al-Sharaa held a separate phone call with President Aoun, during which the two discussed current regional developments and their implications for the security and stability of both countries and the wider region.
