The Hajj and Umrah Directorate at the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf announced on Saturday the arrival of a convoy of trucks carrying sacrificial meat donated by Saudi Arabia. This is part of a project aimed at distributing meat to support the most vulnerable families in Syria.
The convoy entered Syria through the Nassib border crossing in Daraa Governorate and consists of 15 trucks carrying prepared and packaged meat portions.
Ahmed al-Tawil, the government communications official at the Hajj and Umrah Directorate of the Ministry of Awqaf, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the meat was provided as a donation from Saudi Arabia to support the neediest families across various Syrian provinces.

For his part, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Awqaf, Ahmad al-Hallaq, explained that the quantities received are equivalent to about 30,000 sacrificial animals. He noted that the shipment is part of Saudi Arabia’s project to distribute sacrificial meat to those in need in several countries.
Al-Hallaq added that the initiative follows an interruption in recent years and represents a humanitarian effort to support needy families and ease their living burdens. He emphasized that the receipt and distribution process will be coordinated among the relevant authorities to ensure the portions reach their rightful beneficiaries in accordance with approved procedures and mechanisms.
