Government Coordination with International Organizations to Restore Water Supply to Hasaka

The General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation has held a series of coordination meetings with the United Nations Children's Fund and the International Committee of the Red Cross, aimed at accelerating the reactivation of the Alok water station and resuming the pumping of drinking water to Hasaka province.
According to the Hasaka Media Directorate on Monday, April 13, 2026, the meetings focused on the technical and logistical mechanisms required to restart the station, as well as coordinating roles among relevant authorities and international organizations to overcome challenges and expedite field operations.
The institution affirmed its readiness to provide all necessary facilitation to ensure the station’s swift return to service, highlighting the urgent need for water in the province.
For their part, the international organizations reiterated their commitment to providing technical and humanitarian support, working alongside local entities to ensure sustainable solutions and an effective response to the ongoing water crisis.
The institution stressed that restoring operations at the Alok water station is a top priority, given its vital role in supplying drinking water to tens of thousands of residents, and its direct impact on improving service conditions, public health, and overall living stability in Hasaka.
