Syrian Internal Security Discovers Cross-Border Smuggling Tunnel Between Syria and Lebanon

Internal security forces in Homs province have announced the discovery of a tunnel extending between Syrian and Lebanese territory in the Homs countryside.

According to a statement given to Syrian al-Ikhbariya TV on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the tunnel was found in southern rural Homs and was being used for weapons smuggling operations.

Authorities added that the operation also led to the seizure of several storage sites containing quantities of weapons and ammunition prepared for smuggling, without disclosing further details regarding their type or volume.
