Nechirvan Barzani Congratulates Yezidis and Reaffirms Continued Support for Their Rights

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, congratulated the Yazidis on the occasion of the Yezidi New Year on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, affirming that “the Kurdistan Region will remain, as it has always been, a homeland of coexistence, tolerance, and acceptance of others among all components of society.”

Message from the President of the Kurdistan Region on the Occasion of the Yezidi New Year:

I extend my warmest congratulations to all our Yezidi sisters and brothers in Kurdistan, Iraq and around the world on the occasion of the Yezidi New Year. I wish everyone a peaceful and joyful holiday, and I hope the New Year will be filled with success and security.

On this occasion, we reaffirm to our Yezidi sisters and brothers that the Kurdistan Region will remain, as always, a land of coexistence, tolerance, and mutual acceptance among all components, and we will continue to support and defend their legitimate rights and demands.
