Trump: I Do Not Want to Extend Ceasefire with Iran

Welat TV – Erbil

U.S. President Donald Trump said he does not want to extend the ceasefire with Iran, stressing that the United States is in a strong negotiating position.

In an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Trump responded to a question about the possibility of extending the ceasefire, saying: “I don’t want that; we don’t have time.”

The U.S. president added that Washington is in a strong negotiating position and will ultimately reach a “great deal.”

In a separate post on the Truth Social platform the same day, Trump accused Iran of “violating the ceasefire multiple times,” as uncertainty continues to surround the prospects of holding a new round of negotiations in Islamabad.
