Less than a week after an Iranian attack on military sites inside Israel, several sources confirmed that Israel carried out a missile strike at dawn today, Friday, targeting a site in Iran.

The Iranian news agency "IRNA" said that air defense missiles were activated in the airspace of a number of the country's provinces, while explosions were heard in the city of Isfahan.

The Director of Public Relations for Air Navigation announced the suspension of flights to airports in Tehran, Isfahan and other areas, after hearing the sound of an explosion, "the causes of which were not known."

An American official told CNN that Israel carried out a military strike inside Iran. He added: "The United States received advance notice yesterday, Thursday, about a planned Israeli attack in the coming days, but it did not support the response."

According to the Israeli newspaper "Jerusalem Post", the Israeli attack on Isfahan was carried out by planes with long-range missiles, and not by drones or surface-to-air missiles.

An Israeli source told the newspaper: “We targeted a military base close to an Iranian nuclear site in Isfahan,” noting that the targeted base in Isfahan carried out drones attacking Israel.

The source added: "The message to Iran was clear and we can strike their nuclear sites. Our attack on Isfahan shows that Iran's nuclear sites are in danger."
