Kobani: Families of SDF Detainees Urge Aleppo Governor to Resolve Detainee Issue
Welat TV – Erbil
Dozens of family members of detainees from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Kobani have called on Aleppo Governor Azzam Gharib to clarify the fate of their detained relatives.
Coinciding with Gharib’s visit to Kobani, dozens of detainees’ relatives gathered outside the local administration headquarters, carrying photographs of their detained family members and raising slogans urging the Aleppo governor to find a solution to the detainee issue.
The families complained that while most provisions of the January 29 agreement between the SDF and the Syrian government are being implemented, the detainee file remains unresolved.
Hasaka Deputy Governor Ahmed al-Hilali told Welat TV that nearly 1,200 SDF detainees held by the government have been released so far. He added that some SDF members remain in detention because they are linked to separate legal cases, and their situations must be addressed through legal procedures.
