U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington's position toward Iran remains "very strong," stressing that he would prefer reaching an agreement with Tehran rather than, in his words, "destroying what remains of the country."
In an interview with Fox News on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Trump said he would not allow Iran to violate any future agreements, adding that "the United States has a strong position toward Iran, and we can destroy most of Iran's bridges in less than an hour."
Warning of Renewed Strikes
Trump claimed that the United States had destroyed Iran's air defense systems and a significant portion of its weaponry, adding that the "Mount Axe" site in Iran "is not a major problem."
