Hasaka Governor Discusses Support for Residents Returning to Sari Kaniye with International Organizations

Hasaka Governor Nouraddin Ahmad met with representatives of several international organizations, presidential team member Mustafa Abdi, who is tasked with implementing the January 29 agreement, and a number of officials to discuss support for residents returning to Sari Kaniye.

The meeting, held at the Hasaka Governorate building on Thursday, August 13, 2026, discussed ways to support residents returning to Sari Kaniye, aid those currently living there, and create the necessary conditions for displaced people to return to their homes.

The participants also reviewed the state of infrastructure and basic services in the city and its surrounding countryside, as well as mechanisms for rehabilitating and developing them to improve living conditions for residents.

The meeting further addressed efforts to secure essential services and create a suitable environment to ensure the safe return and stability of residents in their areas, while supporting those currently living there and improving the level of services available to them.
