Muhammad Ismail: Dialogue Between Components Helps Reduce Hate Speech
Welat TV – Erbil
Under the slogan “Civil Peace Is Everyone’s Responsibility,” and under the auspices of the Diocese of the Jazira Evangelical Christian Union Church, a dialogue forum was held in Qamishlo.
The forum brought together representatives of Kurdish political parties, the Assyrian Democratic Organization, Kurdish and Arab tribal elders and leaders, Muslim and Christian religious figures, representatives of the Yezidi community, and civil society activists.
Representatives of the region’s various ethnic and religious communities, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Yezidis, Christians, and Muslims, took part.
The participants stressed the importance of promoting a culture of civil peace and strengthening the historical and social ties between the region’s diverse ethnic and religious communities.
The head of the Kurdish National Council, Muhammed Ismail, told Welat TV that “strengthening dialogue and mutual understanding between the different components helps reduce hate speech and violence.”
Sheikh of the Jawwala tribe, Ma’an Dandah, said that the Jazira region is distinguished by its diversity, adding that dialogue among its various components helps strengthen social peace.
For his part, Gabriel Shamoun, a member of the Executive Board of the Syrian Union Party, said that the party places particular emphasis on social peace and the common demands shared by all components of the region.
Throughout history, the different ethnic and religious communities in Syrian Kurdistan have lived alongside one another, building strong social and cultural ties and a shared life in the region.
At a critical time for Syria and the wider region, the various communities of the Jazira region continue to communicate and work together to protect and strengthen social peace and coexistence, address differences through dialogue and peaceful means, and promote the values of partnership, mutual respect, and solidarity among all communities.
